Evolution of Distance Learning.
I first attempted to take a distance learning course in 2002, during the age of AOL dial-up internet. The course consisted of reading a ton of articles and books, as though the instructor had a mission to assign a pile of every book he could find on the topic. A total violation of the cognitive overload principles. Resources were difficult to find, hyperlinks were not embedded in the course outline, and books with audio narrations were not yet available.
